BARCELONA, JANUARY 28, 2026. TransPerfect, a leading multinational provider of technological solutions and language services—with offices in Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Madrid, Alicante, and Valencia—has reinforced its commitment to training audiovisual talent in Spain with a new edition of the University Higher Education Course in Factual Dubbing at the Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia (UCAM). This marks the second year that both entities have collaborated on this initiative, following the first edition in 2024.
The course, taught by UCAM, integrates training from the Dubbing Academy as an essential part of the academic curriculum. Students complete the Voiceover and Dubbing course, one of the five training programs currently offered by the academy, which specializes in training new talent for the international audiovisual industry.
The practical component linked to Dubbing Academy is conducted through TransPerfect Media Director (formerly StudioNEXT), TransPerfect Media’s professional platform for adapting and recording audio content, used by studios and industry professionals worldwide. Thanks to this tool, students work with real industry workflows and technologies aligned with current professional standards.
New Career Opportunities
In addition to university training, students who complete the program obtain a joint degree from Dubbing Academy and UCAM and become part of TransPerfect Media’s talent pool, granting them access to professional opportunities within the company’s ecosystem.
The primary goal of this initiative is to decentralize dubbing in Spain, which has traditionally been concentrated in cities like Madrid and Barcelona, and to bring this professional path to students across the country, fostering geographical diversity in talent and expanding access to the audiovisual industry.
“With this new stage of the partnership between UCAM and TransPerfect Dubbing Academy, we are taking a firm step toward the future of professional dubbing. Our goal is to train the next generation of voice actors with international standards, cutting-edge technology, and a direct connection to the market,” commented Jacques Barreau, Vice President of Media and Interactive Entertainment at TransPerfect, during the official signing of the agreement.
Violeta Pascual Blasco, Professor and Researcher at UCAM’s Faculty of Social Sciences and Communication, added: “We are excited to present the 2026 edition of the UCAM University Higher Education Course in Factual Dubbing, a specialized training program that combines academic excellence with the vanguard of professional dubbing. Thanks to the collaboration with TransPerfect’s Dubbing Academy, students will not only develop vocal and technical skills to adapt and narrate real content, but they will also access online digital training tools and unique professional opportunities in a constantly growing sector. This course reinforces UCAM’s commitment to preparing talent capable of competing in a globalized audiovisual environment.”
An Academy Integrated into the TransPerfect Media Ecosystem
Dubbing Academy is part of TransPerfect Media, the media and entertainment division of TransPerfect, a leading multinational provider of technological solutions and language services. Its model combines specialized training, proprietary technology, and direct access to a global professional environment, allowing students to gain practical experience in real projects and familiarize themselves with the audiovisual production and localization processes used in the international industry.
With the continuation of this collaboration with UCAM, Dubbing Academy and TransPerfect Media reinforce their commitment to training emerging talent and developing an educational model connected to the professional reality of the audiovisual sector.
