Our recent recognition at the EGA Hermes Awards reinforces our commitment to excellence. We’re proud to share that 11 incredible nominees come from TransPerfect Media, including Avatar: The Last Airbender – Season 1 (Polish) and Godzilla Minus One (Polish), both recognized in the Best Dub Audio Mixing category. These nominations highlight the meticulous artistry behind every mix. Let’s take a closer look at the process.
At the heart of every exceptional dub is precise audio mixing. Beyond balancing levels, mixing preserves artistic intent while seamlessly integrating localized dialogue. Our mixers, Michał Skarżyński and Marta Lopukh, played a crucial role in ensuring the Polish mixes of Avatar: The Last Airbender and Godzilla Minus One maintained the authenticity and depth of the original productions.
Michał, a seasoned sound engineer with extensive dubbing post-production experience, has been a key figure at TransPerfect Media Poland for years. Marta, a rising talent from Ukraine, brings fresh energy and a keen ear for detail, quickly mastering the complexities of localization mixing. Their work demonstrates the fine balance between preserving cinematic essence and making localized content feel native to its audience.
Every project presents unique challenges, and these two award-nominated titles were no exception:
- Godzilla Minus One (5.1 Mix): Adapting a Japanese-language production into Polish required maintaining the nuances of speech, cultural expression, and sound design. Balancing the intensity of Godzilla’s roars with clear, natural Polish dialogue demanded technical precision and creative finesse.
- Avatar: The Last Airbender – Season 1 (Home Atmos Mix): Mixing for Home Atmos required an intricate spatial audio setup to immerse viewers in the show’s world. The goal was to preserve Avatar’s dynamic energy while ensuring Polish audiences experienced the same richness and depth as the original.
Tight production schedules add another layer of complexity. With content constantly evolving—glossary updates, last-minute pickups, and consistency checks—our team’s efficiency and collaborative spirit ensure high-quality results within limited timeframes.
Congratulations to our team and all the nominees—here’s to even greater achievements ahead!
